Parable of the Feather

Feathers lay on the ground – probably from a fowl nearby.

I chose the brown and white-striped feather. Soft down lay at the base of the variations, displaying a tanned blotch. I looked closer, turning the light-weight masterpiece in my hand.

‘Is something missing?’ I wondered.
‘No, all the feathers are present,’ I realised. ‘Just slightly displaced!’

As I stroked the stray filaments, I reflected on my life. ABBA Father is revisiting earlier chunks of my memory. He’s cleansing and healing each traumatic incident to be re-aligned into divine order. The fragmented pieces are being regathered to reflect His true masterpiece!

He sees the final product – from before I was born.
I don’t need to be ruffled!

Feathers … wings …
Protect me from harm; keep an eye on me as you would a child who is reflected in the twinkling of your eye. Yes, hide me within the shelter of your embrace, under your outstretched wings.
Psalm 17:8 TPT.

O God, how extravagant is your cherishing love! All mankind can find a hiding place under the shadow of your wings.
Psalm 36:7 TPT.

When you abide under the shadow of Shaddai, you are hidden in the strength of God Most High. He’s the hope that holds me and the stronghold to shelter me, the only God for me, and my great confidence. He will rescue you from every hidden trap of the enemy, and he will protect you from false accusation and any deadly curse. His massive arms are wrapped around you, protecting you. You can run under his covering of majesty and hide. His arms of faithfulness are a shield keeping you from harm. … When we live our lives within the shadow of God Most High our secret hiding place, we will always be shielded from harm. How then could evil prevail against us or disease infect us? God sends angels with special orders to protect you wherever you go, defending you from all harm.
Psalm 91:1-4, 9-11 TPT.

Please, God, show me mercy! Open your grace-fountain for me, for you are my soul’s true shelter. I will hide beneath the shadow of your embrace, under the wings of your cherubim, until this terrible trouble is past.
Psalm 57:1 TPT.

But unto you who revere and worshipfully fear My name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings and His beams, and you shall go forth and gambol like calves [released] from the stall and leap for joy. Malachi 4:2 AMPC.
